Crisis Management - Because help needs to be managed!

A crisis that is not managed puts the family in risky situations that can harm family resilience and mental, emotional, economic, and social well-being. Social and family support and community involvement play a critical role in reducing the negative impact of crises on the family, and the family's ability to successfully survive the crisis.

Support

Yad Tamar personnel and our dedicated team of volunteers accompany cancer patients and their families in coping with the disease. We tailor our support to each individual and provide emotional support, counseling, and referrals to additional resources that can help. We invite every family experiencing a crisis or challenging situation to contact Yad Tamar and receive the necessary support and tools.

Information and Rights Realization

Yad Tamar has years of experience in collecting information, writing methodologies, and creating connections related to coping with cancer. We provide comprehensive and personalized information regarding medical rights, referrals to supportive organizations, and assistance in filling out forms for various authorities, including the National Insurance Institute.
Yad Tamar was established in memory of Tamar Lichtenstat (née Wasserteil), recognizing that health systems focus on the medical treatment of the disease and less on the patient, and even less on the family members. The worlds of families dealing with a health crisis are suddenly destabilized and changed, with the patient and family members 'thrown' into a new reality of life. Many struggle to manage the flow of tasks and the accompanying psychological, economic, and bureaucratic burdens. Experience has shown us that a health crisis that is not managed puts the family in situations of risk that can harm family resilience and mental, emotional, economic, and social well-being. Fortunately, there is hope - studies consistently show that social support and community involvement play a critical role in reducing the negative impact of medical crises on families. Moreover, family and community support increases the patient's chances of recovery and the ability to emerge from the crisis in a positive manner.
